Action
Combination therapy required. Choose one of the following:
Combination therapy (Class II)
- One of the following beta-lactams (IV)
- Ampicillin+sulbactam 1.5-3 g every 6 hours
- Cefotaxime 1-2 g every 8 hours
- Ceftriaxone 1-2 g daily
- Ceftaroline 600 mg every 12 hours
PLUS
- Azithromycin 500 mg IV daily
OR
Combination therapy (Class II)
- One of the following beta-lactams (IV)
- Ampicillin+sulbactam 1.5-3 g every 6 hours
- Cefotaxime 1-2 g every 8 hours
- Ceftriaxone 1-2 g daily
- Ceftaroline 600 mg every 12 hours
PLUS
- One of the following fluoroquinolones (IV) (Class II)
- Levofloxacin 750 mg daily
- Moxifloxacin 400 mg daily
