Yes
- Consider CT scan to evaluate further (Class II)
- If CT is negative and patient is persistently symptomatic, consult GI for endoscopy
No
- If object is visualized in the esophagus, all symptomatic foreign bodies (button batteries, magnets, sharp and blunt objects) located in the esophagus require emergent (2-6 hr) endoscopic removal (Class II)
