Does patient fulfill the following criteria?
- Asymptomatic
- No intra-abdominal foreign body
- Safe lead-free discharge
- Timely follow-up
- Understanding of medication administration instructions
Yes
- Discharge home with oral chelation therapy (Class II)
- All patients who are discharged with BLL ≥3.5 mcg/dL should have:
- Close follow-up
- Consider iron supplementation (Class I)
- Home evaluation for lead source
- Neurodevelopmental evaluation for BLL ≥20 mcg/dL
No
- Admit for further management, chelation therapy (Class II)
