P falciparum, P knowlesi, or species not yet identified

P malariae

Administer $^c$ :

Chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine

P ovale or P vivax acquired in area without chloroquine resistance

Administer $^c$ :

Chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine

PLUS

If not G6PD deficient by quantitative testing, administer:

Primaquine or tafenoquine (not for children aged <16 years)

P vivax acquired in area with chloroquine resistance

Administer:

Atovaquone-proguanil

or

Artemether-lumefantrine

or

Quinine plus (tetracycline or doxycycline or clindamycin)

or

Mefloquine

PLUS

If not G6PD deficient by quantitative testing, administer:

Primaquine or tafenoquine (not for children aged <16 years)
